I have worked for Whatcom County Parks for 15 years as a Senior Center Manger for Blaine and Point Roberts. I am fortunate enough to have a great job that makes a difference in peoples lives.
This job has been a boost to my self esteem, as well as helped to boost my retirement in seven years. The next part of my life will be spent traveling, having a carefree good time and be a support for all my grandchildren. Can't wait to see everyone this September!!!!

Remarks: After graduation, I spent time at U of W. Then worked for Allstate Insurance Main Office in Seattle as an Insurance Rater. In 1977, after moving back to Acme, I went to work in the Whatcom County Auditor's office in the Recording and Accounting divisions. I eventually ended up as Deputy Auditor/Supervisor of the Recording and Licensing divisions. I retired in December of 2001.
I now enjoy life! I spend much of my time babysitting, but I also enjoy camping, traveling, spending time with friends, making quilts, and anything else I get an urge to do.
I married in 1967. Have three sons, three great daughter-in-laws and six super grandkids. Life is great!!

I go visit my mom in Deming two times a year, plus we have a cabin on a river in Indiana where we go three times a year. I drive from Florida to Georgia, spend a couple of days, then on to Indiana. After marrying, changing my major, getting a divorce and moving to California, I decided a singing career wasn't for me although music has always been a key thread in my life. Professionally, I got into human resources and have been at it ever since. Currently, I manage the HR and labor relations functions at Community Transit; our offices are in
Everett and I commute there daily.
Everyone seems to talk about retirement, but I don't even think about it yet. I'm having fun with work and with my husband Doug (we met doing community
theatre). He is active in our community through the city Planning Commission and other efforts. For work, he acquires and manages our rental properties. I enjoyed seeing those of you still at the event at 7pm... sorry I missed the rest

I take in multi- handicap children and also those whom no one wants to take because of police records and behavior problems. Remarks: Main "career" was stay-at-home Mom for three beautiful daughters. Second career was always music... 32 years of having between 35-55 piano students. I later learned to play the pipe organ, even using my two large left feet; old fashioned but fun. I was also the church organist and choir director for several years. You know you have an interesting job when they tell you they are a bunch of bozos.
Since the kids have left home, we spend time visiting the grandchildren, hiking, tent camping; getting rough on the old bones) and working in the yard. The "yard" means 300 rhododendrons cramped onto a double lot. Fun work. Hope to retire... someday... or not.

I quite smoking 13 years ago and started running, swimming and in general started taking a little better care of myself. Another activity I enjoy doing is coaching little league baseball; result of having a Grandson (12/years) who involved his ole grand-dad when he was six. We really have a lot of fun together. Remarks: After 23 1/2 years with Coca Cola, instead of retiring in 1997 I took a job with a freight company (Hogland Transfer). This is proving to be very enjoyable after all the years of pressure. Actually having fun doing this one. I didn't retire as I could have in 2000 when I became eligible, however, as of late I have been getting tempted.
We have been active members of our church for 37 years, and have resided in our current home for 35; we'll probably die here. There's now just too much stuff to move. HA! HA! We are too busy to have any hobbies, but we do enjoy snow skiing, waterskiing and camping.

Remarks: Married still to Dan. Our kids are grown, daughter living in Nashville and son living here in Bellingham on property behind my parent's house. This is wonderful, as the two amazing and wonderful grandchildren are close at hand (even though my parents see them more often than I do!).
I am still doing medical transcription, working from home after a brief and miserable stint back in the office (I am such a whiner). Dan is retired and his full time job is now taking care of me. I am busier than I really want to be but do plan to retire before another ten years go by and hopefully sooner. I still enjoy gardening but lately this has been mostly giving orders to my yard man (Dan) about what is a weed and what is a beloved plant. I can hardly believe that we've been out of school for 40 years and that we are now all senior citizens or senile delinquents, take your pick... I have a fondness for the latter.

Remarks: Okay, I've been procrastinating long enough. Since it's been so much fun reading about each of you, I guess it would be fair to add some of my own story. Mark and I love living in Chicago... great energy to this city! And we'll soon be enjoying our first grandchild. We've both been in church ministry since graduating from North Park College (now University). I'm currently working for our denominational offices in the area of spiritual formation, and Mark is dean of enrollment at North Park University. We enjoy sailing on Lake Michigan in a little Ensign day sailer that's been in Mark's family for more than thirty years. But our favorite place to sail is, of course, the San Juan Islands. No talk of retirement for either of us yet... but when we do, we'd love to head back to the Pacific Northwest. I'm sorry that I won't be able to join you for the reunion, but my sister (Marvel) says she'd love to be a "stand in" for me. Hope you all have a great time!

Remarks: Currently a Wildlife Research Scientist with the Wildlife Management Program of the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife. He is Principal Investigator on the Project CAT cougar study. He recently completed a comprehensive field investigation of black bears at three study sites in Washington. Prior to joining the department in 1994 he was a lecturer in Wildlife Management at Moi University in Kenya where he studied African lions and predation. He has conducted surveys for the Endangered South China tiger in China and has worked on carnivore projects in India. He has also conducted research and has published on studies of pine marten, wolverine, bobcat, lynx, cougar, and coyote in Washington, Idaho, and Montana. Gary is a native of Washington state. He received a B. A. degree in Biology from Western Washington University and M.S. and Ph. D. degrees in Wildlife Management from the University of Idaho.

After 42 years of total flying, I retired on APR 1 (April Fools Day) from Alaska Airlines. Currently working full time catching up with my Grandpa and house chores.
After H.S. graduation, I spent four years at the WSU obtaining a BA degree in Business. During the summer months, I obtained both my private/commercial pilots license. After graduating from WSU I joined the Navy where I flew the P-3 Orion conducting ocean surveillance in the Pacific & SE Asia. Following my military service I flew for Saudi Arabian Airlines (2/yrs) based in Jeddah and Braniff airlines (5/yrs) based in Miami, FL. In 1983 I joined Alaska Airlines and since then have lived in the Seattle area. I am currently flying B-737's and look forward to seeing yo on one of my flights - Yeah pretty scary. Diane and I have now been married 34 yrs.
