Remarks (02/26/08): Retired from the sheriff's department in May of 2001, after 29 years. Sandi and I are enjoying ourselves. We have a small gift shop on our property, so we work at that four days a week. We have found that we like to cruise and we try to take one trip a year to some place new.
Come April 2008 we will celebrate our 42nd anniversary. We have four grandchildern ranging from the age of 20, down to twelve. THEY ARE THE BEST....

Remarks: Joe and I will be celebrating 42 years of marriage on June 11, 2008. Joe continues to be self employed and I have been with St. Joseph Hospital 40 years, as of 2008. The last 22 years have been with the Health Education Department of the hospital. I am really looking forward to retirement in the next couple of years!
Most of our enjoyment comes from being with our family. Kirk, our oldest, has one daughter, Megan, 14 yrs and attends school in Burlington. Kirk has his own trucking company and works out of Sedro-Woolley. Heidi married Jason Jacoby (Diane Chase's son 1963); they are currently building a home in the VanZandt area. Heidi has worked for Horizon Air since 1990 - hence a lot of free flying miles on Alaska and Horizon for us! They have two sons, Brennen, 14 yrs and Balyn 10 yrs. Both boys heavily involved in sports: Football, Baseball and Mt. Baker Racing Ski Team. Keith, our youngest, after being with the Mount Vernon Police Department for several years, transferred to the Whatcom County Sheriff's Dept in 2006. He is married to Jeri and they have two children, Alyssa, 11 yrs and Hayden, 8 yrs. Jeri is the Safety Coordinator at St. Joseph Hospital. To say the least, they are the highlights of our lives. We go on family trips together and do a lot of camping together also. God's blessings on you all.

Remarks (02/26/08): Our two children live and work in Seattle. No we are not Grandparents yet. Neither of our children have married.
Since high school I have lived in Seattle, San Jose, CA, Kirkland, WA, Fort Collins, CO, and back to WA. We lived in Vancouver, WA. for 13 years. We now live in Marysville, WA. Ed has worked for different companies during our 42 years of marriage and that gave us the opportunity to travel some with the companies. We spend a few months in Wilmington, NC, a few months in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, and sometime in the New England states and New York.
We took a trip to Belgium to see my father's birth place and get to know relatives there, in 1999. My father lived in Belgium for 12 years than moved with his family to Saskatchewan, Canada in 1912.
Ed retired in October of 2005 from H.P. and we moved to Marysville, WA to be close to our families. We moved as close to our home roots as we could get.
Ed and I have spent a lot of time being teachers of the Scriptures. Over the years we have taught children's classes, Adult classes and recently a class for the "Young Married Couples". I was involved as much as I could be in our children's schools while they were in elementary school especially.
We have spent many years with several children (teens) in our home other than our own. What a privilege to share in their lives. After our children left home and we moved back to Vancouver, WA, I spent four years volunteering at Cascade College in Portland, OR. I went to college one year on that campus. The name then was Columbia Christian College. During my years of volunteering for the college we had college students in our home at least one evening a week so they could do their laundry, have a home cooked meal and stay for Bible study with us. One student, Tim Onsomu from Kisii, Kenya spent a lot of his fours years of college with us and then lived with us for about one year after he graduated. With Tim's Dad, we have started an adult Bible school in Kisii, Kenya. We send most of the support money they get from here and hundreds of books to build them a library. The school teaches adults not only Bible but domestic trades to help them with their lives there.
We have had a full life ourselves and feel God has blessed us. We are thankful. No matter what we have done one of the most important things to us is the people we have met and made friends with.
Keeping in contact with friends from high school is important to us too and we try to go to every reunion or gathering of Ed's high school as well as mine. Ed graduated from Tolt High School in Carnation, WA. We hope to see you at the next reunion for Mt. Baker. We look forward to seeing you all again soon.

Kari and I have been married since 2005. She is a compliance specialist for Providence Healthcare, covering three states as her work area. We enjoy hunting for antiques, touring on the Harley, and showing our 1935 Chevy street rod; all the things we somehow missed, but wished for as we grew up.

Sandy & I have been married for 40 yrs. as of September 2008. She's so good to keep me around for four decades now (ha, ha). My how time flies when your hav'n fun. She's a doll. Sandy is a beautician, a volunteer at church for many projects, and spends a lot of her time taking care of our family.
Our eldest is Sonia & she has been married fifteen or so years to Kurt. They have one very smart little boy Barrett (five years old).
Our second in command is Nathan & he is married to Ruthie (2 1/2 yrs). They have one son; Ethan 1 1/2 years old; also very smart, Ruthie is a wonderful addition to our family from the island of Cebu in the Philippines.
Amanda is our third & she married in December 2006 to a really nice young man named Calvin. They live & work in Beverly, WA.

Nathan - Foss Maritime tugboat operator,
Amanda - School teacher.
One thing that we like to do is get together for family get-togethers at a lake or resort & just do some outdoor things together. Like most families, we just love to be with each other. We help with our two grandsons on a fairly regular basis & that's been real rewarding. As I've been semi-retired for six yrs now, it gives us much more flexibility to help with our family. Other than that, I just try to keep going on our hobby-farm; always doing something on the place to keep me out of trouble. A special thank you Margaret for doing this wonderful project for all of the MBHS grads.
